I had a very exciting time last night - I learned how to make button holes! Haha yes, laugh all you like, I'm a late developer, I know! I was making a "waistcoat" for a sad cushion & I preferred buttons to poppers (I am talking about sewing accessories here!!!!).
My lovely little oak tree - I've been watching it for weeks to see the first leaves... then all of a sudden the other day it just looked like this!

ooooohhhh!!! You used the.... is it Amy Butler? Saweeet!! SUCH a clever idea! Look at you sew!
After the snow we had in October our poor little trees aren't likely to come back at all this year. In our nearby park there are some 60,000 trees and they say MAYBE 12,000 of them are still alive. VERY sad!
Hehe well I think a 4 year old could probably do it... but it was quite hard work for me! Am very happy with the results.
Awwww that is soooo sad man. Our area is well known for it's beautiful trees and forests, it would be devastated if something like that happened (not much else happening here!!).
Button holes? No way... I wouldn't know where to start! I have parts of this machine that I still cannot identify remember...
I also have a foot like that, but it's not what I used. I had some plastic thing that had a big gap in it... I gave it a whirl with the button settings and managed to figure it out eventually. I'll send you a pic of what I used.
But my machine doesn't have a buttonhole setting. That "thing" has gears in it and when you turn them it moves the sticky out bit up and down which I assume is the sewing motion. But I've no idea how it's supposed to work, nor how to use it with the machine.
I can't stop looking at the pillow. That fabric is BEAUTIFUL and it just works so well with the understated background. LOVE!
like i said ......You guys are making me want to garden here !!!!!! I'll take some photos tomorrow of where I stay Its really looking all green and lush here too . ( just trying to fit in here with your green theme ) heeheeehee
Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!
I second that: yaaaaaaaaay!
Ros: Hmmmmmm I wish I could help! I'll ask P's mom, she's good with this stuff, and I'm sure she's sewed on older machines.
I know, I am totally in love with the fabric too. Can't wait to start another cover. Oh for some time...
